SMS/Text Messaging
WedTexts sends wedding event updates and reminders by SMS on behalf of the couple or planner hosting the wedding. Messages are transactional wedding communications – schedules, reminders, venue and timing changes, and messages the host sends to their guest list. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages to guests.
Guests join a wedding’s guest list in one of two ways, and in both cases the guest gives consent themselves:
Invitation. When a host adds a guest’s number, WedTexts sends that number one message inviting them to confirm. It contains a link to our opt-in page and nothing else about the wedding. No further messages are sent unless the guest opts in on that page.
Self sign-up. A host may share a sign-up link. The guest enters their own name and mobile number and confirms consent on that page in one step.
On both pages, the guest sees this disclosure beside an unchecked consent box, and must check it before submitting:
“WedTexts sends wedding event updates and reminders. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. See our Terms and Privacy Policy.”
We record the date and time of every opt-in, how it was given, and the exact wording shown.

Guests give their own consent before WedTexts sends them anything about a wedding. When a host adds a guest’s number, that number receives one message inviting them to confirm; no wedding information is sent until the guest opts in on our opt-in page. A guest may instead sign themselves up through a link the host shares, entering their own number and confirming consent in one step. After a guest has opted in, WedTexts delivers the host’s wedding updates and reminders to them, and the guest can reply STOP at any time to stop receiving them.
We do not sell end-users’ phone numbers nor do we send marketing messages to them.
As we change the wedding communication landscape we like to track our growth, so we do hold onto guests’ phone numbers to see our organic growth. If you or your guest(s) want their information deleted, simply email us at support@wedtexts.com.

- Facilitate and improve the usage of the services we provide.
- Assess the future needs of our users to determine other suitable products.

Mobile information, text messaging originator opt-in data, and consent are never shared or sold to any third party, affiliate, or lead generator for any purpose. This applies to all purposes, not only marketing or promotional ones. No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We do not sell guests’ phone numbers.
The only parties that ever receive a mobile number are the service providers that deliver the messages and operate the service on our behalf, listed below. They may use it only to deliver the service and may not use, share, or sell it for any other purpose.
